Many families are separated and loose contact due to
personal reasons, beyond their control.
It is comparatively easy searching for a lost relative, although no time
scale can be imposed, because in this day and age, people not only move to
a new house often in another area but in many cases move to a different
country.
I like to think that the majority of people I conduct research for, have a
genuine reason for wanting to find someone e.g. long lost mother - father
- brother - sister etc and not motivated by some unfinished business - so
to speak.
I specialise in tracing Birth Families for Adopted Adults. Laws in the UK
changed in the 1970's giving Adopted Adults access to original
documentation, pertaining to their birth and Adoption.
This is extremely complex and even though in most cases this information
is easily available there is still going to be many occasions when,
because of year of birth, details will be sketchy if not impossible to
find.
I can advise Birth Parents and in many cases - depending on the
information that they have - can offer help and advice as to the best way
forward.
Unfortunately when the Law changed it did not incorporate the rights of
the Birth Family. This is being constantly challenged by many groups,
working independently throughout the world not only the UK in order to get
legislation changed.
I can either conduct the entire search myself or will assist those who
rather do it themselves, thus keeping costs to a minimum.
